McCain-Palin "Lipstick on a Pig" Ad is Jaw-Droppingly Stupid

I've become so frustrated with the race at this point, I barely can even form coherent thoughts. The straw that is threating the camel's back for me at the moment is this latest McCain ad jumping on something Obama said yesterday. McCain has this displayed front and center on his campaign homepage.

Here's the text:

Sarah Palin: "You know the difference between a hockey mom and a pitbull? Lipstick!"

Cut to Obama: "They say you can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig."

Cut to Katie Couric: “One of the great lessons of that campaign is the continued and accepted role of sexism in American life.”

End

No. Way. So. Out of. Context. Can't. Believe...(sigh)

Obama was talking about how McCain and Palin are dressing up their policies and "records of reform," when underneath it's just the same old stuff we've seen theh last eight years. The expression "lipstick on a pig" is a common one, so common in fact that McCain used the same line when talking about Hilary Clinton's health care plan.

This election is a circus. And not a fun one, like one with scary clowns where you think you might actually die.
