As the Opinion Editor of the online paper at school, the story ideas of staff writers are always welcome. At our meeting this week, one particular writer, who recently wrote an enlightening article about a topic all too familiar to us, caught me off guard with the following news: Quinnipiac is now on Juicy Campus.

As soon as I got back to my apartment, I had to see if it was true. I typed in Quinnipiac in the “Search” box and 9 different forums came up including: Top 10 Hottest Guys, Top 10 Hottest Girls and Best Sororities/Fraternities.

It’s hard to believe people actually invest their time in talking about people they go to school with. I’m glad I can say that nothing bad has been said so far about anyone in particular but given time, and considering the anonymity, the claws will come out. At the University of Arizona, for example, some forums have been devoted to discussing who the biggest slut on campus is and who people would rather f*** given two choices of “uglies”.

On the other hand, it can be said that Juicy Campus is comparable to any other forum. People should be able to discuss salacious topics the way people discuss what the most quotable movies are on IMDB. While the topics of discussion are not exactly comparable, the concept of the forum is the same and as they say, people are entitled to their opinions.
