Ann Arbor Saves Us From the Looming Threat of Hot Dogs Once Again
HOT DOGS KILL BABIES!!!

I’m not exactly sure what our University and Ann Arbor have against hot dogs. Maybe they have a terrible childhood memory where they were beaten silly with a hot dog by a bully in front of the girl they had a crush on. Maybe the frat they pledged made them go all Kobayashi on forty five hot dogs in order to become a brother. Whatever it is, it’s already led to the banning of the beloved hurler of deliciousness, Hot Dog Man, from Michigan Stadium (he was even threatened with arrest), and they’re introducing legislation by the end of the month to ban hot dog vendors from sidewalks.

This is largely thanks to one douchebag with a lot of time on his hands. It’s Ann Arbor City Council member Stephen Kunselman who calls himself " 'the one who dug it up and brought it to light’ He decided the law needed to be enforced because of repeated complaints he's heard about the vendors. He cited an example of a taco stand on the corner of East William and State Streets last year that ran a generator so loudly that blind students couldn't hear the beep that signals when it's safe to cross the street.”

Can I just say, what? Are there really no greater problems in Ann Arbor than loud hot dog vendor generators? And also, does anyone really not know how to cross the street unless they hear a beep? I always go to that intersection and wonder, "What the hell is that noise?" I guess only complaints go to the city council, and no one ever takes the time to write their councilmember to let them know how great their hot dog tasted, but if there was ever a time to start, it’s now.

Update: Heyyy, so the first time through I didn't realize it said "blind students." Now I feel like an ****. This brings up the larger point however of what the hell do they do everywhere else on campus? Nowhere else that I know of beeps. Once again, Ann Arbor hates the handicapped. I think I've made my point.
