I think it's safe to say that the next few weeks are going to be very exciting here at Penn State. Well, if you're into politics and nut-jobs, the next five weeks will be exciting. So, in addition to the prospect of getting some presidential candidates or their family members here before April 22, we're going to probably have some speakers from the left and the right, trying to tell you who to vote for. And the first is batshit crazy conservative commentator Ann Coulter. This will be fun.
Let me get this off my chest before I go any further. Can people just stop saying Ann Coulter's hot. Look, even if you happen to agree with every crazy word that comes out of her mouth, you're going overboard to say she's hot. This girl is hot. Ann Coulter, not so much.
Anyway, Coulter will be speaking April 2 at 7p.m. in the HUB's Alumni Hall and the event is being partially sponsored by University Park Allocation Committee (UPAC), and the Penn State chapter of Young Americans for Freedom (YAF). You might remember that YAF also sponsored Rick Santorum's speech last year as part of "Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week."
I have to imagine that someone's going to complain about Coulter being paid in part with UPAC funds.
The CDT says Coulter's fee for speaking was not immediately available, but says a "Web site that handles requests on her behalf lists the starting price for appearances at $20,000." Wow, crazy people can make some serious dough.
Well, I'll give the woman this: She's probably more well versed in politics than Syrus and Robin.
