Mckeldin Late Night Study Shutting Down

Mckeldin Late Night Study Shutting Down

Anyone who goes to Maryland, whether you live on North Campus, South Campus, or off campus, has studied in Mckeldin during late night study. It's a finals tradition, something we all know and love.

However, due to actions requested by the Provost to reduce budget, late night at McKeldin will be shut down. Not temporarily suspended, not canceled once a week, but completely shut down. This means that after 11 p.m. you will no longer be able to study at McKeldin.

Remember all those late night study groups you had the night before the final? Remember sneaking food and drinks in and pounding out a paper until class started at 9? No more.

This is completely unacceptable. Every university needs a place for students to study all night and McKeldin has been that place for years. It's not enough that the college screws everyone over with housing, now they have to take away late night studying?

If you want to do something, and you should, you can join the official Facebook group. You can also e-mail, call, or write the Provost:
