Yeah, I thought the same thing when I read the headline. But turns out, this isn't some stoners clever way to get marijuana legalized. There actually is a Jamaican plant that apparently may help cure cancer and HIV.
According to Jamaican scientist Dr. Henry Lowe, the Jamaican ball moss plant was found to have anti-cancer and anti-HIV/AIDS properties. Apparently it's been tested on the rats and was pretty successful.
For further testing, Lowe plans on having three students and a staff member come to Maryland. Now if they could only bring some other plants with them too...
