The University of Oregon has decided to add cheerleading as a varsity sport, joining Maryland as the only two schools to offer scholarships for something that’s not a sport.

I know that cheerleading is hard and competitive. And hell, I wish I could do a backflip. I just don’t think that cheerleading is a sport. Although I do like the idea of some high school cheerleading hotshot receiving gold pom-pom’s from a booster and then being sanctioned by the NCAA.
