Princeton's Hottest Hipster Hangouts: Part 1
Ok, so the term "hipster hangouts" when applied to Princeton is a little oxymoronic. But you can't blame the non-conformist few for trying. Here are a few places on campus that offer a hipster element, if only occasionally.

Terrace Club: Freshmen worship it as the mecca of campus cool. Although the members of this eating club include a fair share of Ivy and Tower rejects, Terrace is the place to go to get your indie music fix, as it does attract the self-proclaimed hipsters (but if you have to say it...). Be here are every Thursday afternoon for meetings of New Yorker wannabe mag The Nassau Weekly. No other meeting offers such bountiful booze.

185 Nassau: Home of Paul Muldoon, Chang-Rae Lee, and the rest of the Princeton literati, 185 Nassau hosts wine and cheese readings nearly every Wednesday afternoon. True, most in attendance are pretentious creative writing students, but the opportunity to meet Jonathan Lethem and the like is worth it.

Murray Dodge: Evangelical hub by day, this little brick building turns into a late-night hang out from 10pm-12:30pm. Free cookies and tea help stimulate the conversation--but also attract frosh.
