Okay, well if you thought this headline was exciting because the sloth was born with two toes instead of three, then you and I are in the same boat – which is the incorrect one. The two-toed sloth is actually its own species. Apparently, this is headlining news because it was the first sloth born at the National Aquarium in Baltimore.

Now, if you just thought – a sloth born at an aquarium!? That must be why this is headlining news! – you’d still be incorrect. The National Aquarium in Baltimore actually has a rain forest in it. It’s pretty cool.

To top it off, as if the appeal of this story wasn’t confusing enough, The Baltimore Sun uses the redundant headline: “Baby two-toed sloth born at National Aquarium,” which leads may lead some to believe that it's rare for sloths to be born as babies? Are they naturally born as full-grown adults?

I’ve gone cross-eyed...

It appears sloths are continuing their slow crawl into the limelight. Fist SNL, now the National Aquarium? What's the driving force behind this sloth revival? Are they even qualified for one?
