Tomorrow is Homecoming 2008 for the University of Maryland. Over the past three years I've come to experience that Homecoming, for whatever reason, is always an awesome time. There's not one specific thing that contributes to this great day, it just seems like it always turns out better than expected - something like the opposite of New Years Eve.

Anyway, if you're not sure what's going on this Homecoming, here are some options...

Football Game v. NC State Wolf Pack - 3:30 Kickoff

The Homecoming classic. You gotta go to the football game. Get there early and they're probably giving away some free shirts or something. I've got a Disco Testudo one that is so choice. The Terps need this win too, so look for an exciting game.

Bentley's

The local filling station holds a massive tailgate before, during and after the football game. There's tents set up outside and it's usually full of alumni - frequently Scott Van Pelt.

Reportedly, he tries to make two football games and two basketball games a year, which usually include Homecoming (football )and Duke (basketball). That being said, this is probably a waste of your day. On the other hand, if you do meet him, don't be a douche.

Field Hockey Match v. UNC - 1:00 to 2:30

The Terps field hockey team is sitting pretty at #1 right now, but will face off against the talented Tar Heels who are ranked #5. The game is early, so you can make it and the football game.

Get Drunk, Pass Out and Rally
Another option you've got it to forget everything I just said, go to your tailgate and enjoy the drinking so much that you forget about the field hockey game, football game, and tons of free stuff available, pass out on the couch in the early afternoon and then rally later on in the night and hit the bars/party circuit.

It's Raining, It's Pouring, The Terrapin is Snoring

Sit and do nothing because it rained all day... or go out in the rain, get wet, have an awesome time, play mud football and go watch the Terps' games.
