Verti-NO! And, Yes, that Joke was Lame
Books are a bitch. They're never cheap enough, they're hard to re-sell, and are commonly used as a coaster up until the day of finals.

A book from Vertigo has all of those unique qualities, with a real emphasis on the second.

For those who haven't had the pleasure of taking a trip to Vertigo Books, it's a cute little bookstore located on Rt. 1. They're actually pretty kick-ass with a whole independent, "damn the man" feel going on.

However the thing with Vertigo is that it's so independent that hardly anyone knows about the books they sell. Semester ends and you can't just zoom that biography of Romare Bearden past Amazon and expect a profit. Instead you end up putting it on Bookholders, watching the price drop to mere pennies.

Vertigo is awesome, but it ends up doing more harm than good. Professors, do us all a favor and order mainstream books. And if we can't sell it back, at least make the purchase interesting. If we have to cough up the cash, it might as well have pictures.
