From what I remember, journalism classes were supposed to be about writing and the news. Not exactly a stimulating class, but someone has to get the job done.
But it seems that something happened this semester with journalism courses. OTR tipsters have been reporting out of control "Overheards" all semester.
According to the tipsters, there's been talks regarding genitals, fellatio, and all kinds of things that don't seem to fit in a typical journalism discussion. In fact, another gem was heard yesterday.
Teacher: Do you guys think that in music, artists should be able to say anything they want? How far does free speech go?
Student: I used to think that, but last week my 10-year-old cousin was listening to my IPod and asked me what "Choke me, Slap me, Pull my hair" was.
What happened to just writing??
