I can smell the sweet stench of cannabis already. It looks like Hollywood is going green, grass green that is. With the recent premiere of Pineapple Express, another movie has been added to the long list of stoner movies. Is it really that funny to watch tripped out belligerent fools as films' protagonists? Absolutely!

Here’s OTR’s comprehensive list of eight great stoner movies . . .

1. Pineapple Express – Seth Rogen and James Franco score again because this recent release is already a fan-favorite.

2. Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle – This pot-filled adventure is about two friends who are anxious to find a White Castle to soothe an insatiable case of munchies.

3. Knocked Up – Although this movie might not be directly about marijuana, it was a prominent theme that made the film all the more hysterical.

4. Half-Baked – This unforgettable tale of friends selling stolen medical marijuana to earn bail money for their incarcerated friend is not only an example of model friendship but also shows the uniting qualities of weed.

5. Super Troopers – An unspoken rule says that as a college-aged guy – you MUST love this movie. The film about a group of state troopers tells the story of their pranks, light-ups and crime solving.

6. Dazed & Confused – Freaks, geeks, beauties and jocks and the power of the pot – this film goes through the motions of high school in about an hour and a half.

7. Clerks – The debut for the film industry’s lamest duo – Jay and Silent Bob. It is in this movie that we experience the on-screen magic of drug dealing in front of a Quick Stop market.

8. Slackers – Just as the title suggests, this is the story of three roommates who have spent their college careers cheating, lying and smoking pot.
