... And No One Gets Tased At The Ann Coulter Event. Booooring!

Seriously, what is up with you people? Take one for the team. I told you I was going to be there videotaping, and you don't even attempt to disrupt the event enough to see if our campus police actually know how to use deadly force? Well, one girl kind of did (as seen above), and she got thrown out was asked to leave. But besides that and NO ONE BEING ABLE TO ASK A QUESTION, the event was ... eh.

So, here's the lesson to be learned after all the events that have happened at Penn State over the last week or so - get to these things really early. The Coulter speech was scheduled to start at 7pm last night so, one would think getting there 45 minutes before the event would be fine ... but no. I don't even know where the line ended (I was able to jump in line with someone I knew) but it seemed to sneak all over the HUB. Adam Smeltz says in today's CDT that over 800 people were there, but I say it was probably closer to 1,000. They had to take down the partitions to the room next to Alumni Hall in order to let everyone in.

Of course Coulter made some ridiculous comments, like giving women the right to vote was a "fatal mistake" (video of that here), constantly referring to Barack Obama as "B. Hussein Obama" and calling Bill Clinton the "anti-Christ."

But clearly Coulter is working on her stand-up routine ... and she needs to keep working because it sucks. I think I'm able to step back from someone I disagree with and analyze them as an unbiased "reporter." If Coulter said anything that was funny I would have laughed, but she didn't. Here's an example: "How do you know a Muslim terrorist is killing you? He's yelling 'Allah is great' while he's slitting your throat."

Is that funny? No. Is it offensive? Maybe. But it's not funny. And the people who laughed are just encouraging Coulter to continue using sub-par material. Seriously, Ann go to a comedy workshop or something. You need work.

And of course there was a question and answer period after the event, which went horribly. I told you yesterday, come prepared with questions. Don't just get up there and start making statements, because you come off as a doosh. And clearly no one listens to me. Almost everyone that got up to speak had some kind of soliloquy, with no question in sight. Work on that for Ron Paul next week will you!

Anyway, for additional video of the event, go to my YouTube page. Unfortunately most of the pictures I took didn't come out very well.
