ALERT: Murder Suspect at Large in Ann Arbor

ALERT: Murder Suspect at Large in Ann Arbor
Seen him? Call the cops.

Supposedly U of M has issued a security alert about this, but I'll be damned if I got so much as a post-it note about it. Andrew Myrick, a 28-year old University student is wanted by police for questioning about the death of another man last night on Plymouth Road near North Campus.

The story is that there was some sort of botched robbery attempt that lead to a death, and although we're not supposed to say "there's a killer on the a loose in Ann Arbor," it seems that might be the case.

"Kinsey said police found 12 to 15 bullet holes inside and outside the home, and an AK-47 type weapon believed to have been used in the slaying was still at the scene. Police also found signs of forced entry."

An AK-47? Good lord, where are we, Los Angeles? If you've seen this guy, (he appears pretty recognizable), call police pronto. He's only wanted for "questioning" and maybe it was self defense, but yeah, I wouldn't risk it.

This brings up a larger point about the University's piss poor alert system. I've gotten no e-mails, no phone calls and no text messages about this, even with the news saying the University has issued a security alert. I mean, I'm not going to change my plans for the day, but it would be nice to know if there's a killer running around the city. After Virginia Tech you'd think they'd be on their shit about stuff like this.
