And We're Not Graduating at the Big House
How safe commencement at the Big House would be, according to the University.

Unless you've been living under a rock for the past month, you know about the whole "this year's seniors are graduating at Eastern" fiasco. Well, we've established that's not going to happen, but the latest blow to our campaign to graduate at the Big House seems to be a deadly one.

The University sent out an e-mail last night that said there is no possible way that graduation can be at Michigan Stadium. The e-mail claims that the task force spent "220 person hours" (as opposed to animal hours?) to figure out how it could be possible, but to no avail. Apparently, "the number and magnitude of risks, uncertainties, problems and costs associated with holding an event for 25,000 people in the midst of a major construction zone are simply too great." Meaning, they would've had to spend a shit ton of money to rectify the dumbass mistake they made in overlooking gradution in the first place.

I could bitch about how incompetent and uncaring the University has been through this whole process, but frankly, I'm exhausted. Fine, you win. You're a horrible, horrible administrative body and you've successfully squeezed the fight out of this student. So congratulations.

The new alternative options for graduation are Elbel Field (that grassy place you cut through when walking to the stadium) and the Diag (that stony place you cut through when walking to class). I vote the Diag, because I really want to see how the hell they're going to squeeze 25,000 people in there. It might be rather cool to have everyone spread out on the grass, but I'm going to go ahead and guess that 75% of people will have their view blocked by trees and everyone will be so far away they might as well be listening to it on the radio.

This is usually where I'd tell you to keep fighting for the Big House, but it's become clear that the incompetence of our school administrators is unstoppable.
