Update: Photo has been removed by request, everyone's probably seen it by now though...
Here's a profile picture of a Chi Phi from facebook. I'd like to make a motion to remove Chi Phi from the Top Ten of The List.
The rights to shirtless photos (let alone naked) remain only for incoming freshman who think its cool before they realize people think they're gay (not homosexual though, for those who are ridiculously concerned about my political correctness). As mentioned earlier today, there's a sense of entitlement that comes with being involved in Greek Life. Having a senior with a naked friend in this photo pretty much sums that up.
However, this could be the case of a guy who figures he's only got a month left of school and finally overcomes the pressure of having a clothed photo. All I know is JQ wouldn't take off his armored plates for a facebook photo. We know he's jacked underneath, but he's not that desperate.
Let this be a note to all that if you friend me on facebook I will not hesitate to use your information against you. Cheers.

2. That was the day we ate Natalee Holloway for lunch and I blacked out at noon.
C. I am in Chi Phi...I should be in SAE.
D. Me and the other guy in the picture are the craziest people you will ever meet. Please refer to the Airport "incident".
6. I made College OTR.... not as a blogger. Almost as good as the stacks are going to be next week. Posted 04/01/2008 10:50 AMReply
CONGRATS!
But, unfortunately, this isn't really much of a story either. Just a funny spring break picture without much "gayness." Posted 04/01/2008 5:09 PMReply

Skeeps isn't that big of a deal. Get over yourself. You would be nothing without greeks so unless you want to be without a job, I'd do less trash talking and more ass talking.
In other words, you should bend over bitch. Posted 04/02/2008 10:19 AMReply
oh how i love my skeeps boys ;)
they are everything BUT gay. Posted 04/02/2008 12:11 PMReply

But seriously, an AEPi bashing the Greek system? That just seems inconsistent and hypocritical to me. Posted 04/02/2008 9:07 PMReply
But I really can't understand how you can villify me for posting your address and phone number when you post the half-naked picture of some poor dude taking a shower. What does this photo have "anything to do with the system" either? Posted 04/02/2008 9:27 PMReply
I have no problem with a greek bashing the greek system, so long as it stays remotely honest to the truth. Think about how this website affects "bottom-tier" houses like Chi Phi or SigEp. Don't make up kid's minds for them before they have a chance to do it themselves... that's what rush is for. Posted 04/02/2008 9:52 PMReply
Just don't blame me or JQ for what anonymous people put up on this site. The Greek stuff is going to leak into articles regardless of what we write about (just got an anti-pike one in the Charles Woodson post).
This one was poking at a guy in Chi Phi who claims he should be an SAE. If you read JQ's post about Sip Ep its actually very positive. Only picking on the top frats and not on the bottom ones would be discrimination. If a kid relies on this site as his source rather than visiting the actual houses then you probably don't want him anyway. Posted 04/02/2008 10:17 PMReply
I understand that there is no way not to incorporate your personal biases. Even responsible journalists/bloggers can't avoid this. But to actively do so is a different matter. There is a huge difference between "poking fun" at stereotypes and constantly perpetuating them.
I can't deny that some of the shit you guys write is funny. But what you two (and you especially, as a member of AEPi ) are doing has a very negative effect on the Greek system. I may hate the system as much as you, but I'm fully aware of the fact that my house wouldn't exist without it. Frankly, I'm surprised that your brothers haven't confronted you about this. But hey, who cares right? You must feel pretty ****ing important everytime you check your articles to see how many hits they've gotten. Posted 04/02/2008 10:55 PMReply
As a younger member of Chi Phi, and one that really gives a shit about the future of the house, an article like this take my motivation and determination and just buries it into the ground. Chi Phi is an interesting house, it's a group of much more laid back, random guys... not cookie cutter or stereotyped people. That's really why I think it took JQ so long to write about us, because it's hard to write about Chi Phi in a stereotyped and satiracle manner until something like this happens. That and/or because he doesn't care very much about Chi Phi and didn't feel writing about us was necessary... That's understandable to us too.
But here we have an older member of Chi Phi... one barely any of us younger guys see (naturally) and someone coming from a very different era of Chi Phi and what the people in the house want to see the house like in the future. Here he is... making a stupid ****ing decision and now the younger guys that had hopes for the "wave" JQ was so accurately talking about can't even fight a fair fight.
You guys have all of the influence in the world, becuase you guys write very well known, entertaining and straight up reviews of houses. But for this one you didn't poke fun at a stereotype or joke about the way we act as a group... you picked one incident which most of us wish we could disown, and you created a sterotype, which is a lot more powerful than you think.
When I.... as one of the guys in the house that actually gives a **** (and you know the kind of guy I am talking about) try and get other kids that are respectable and will push to make Chi Phi better next fall... guess what's going to happen? Of course they will see this and of course it will influence them. This article could really change the house... maybe just one kid difference, but imagine your pledge class with one person gone.
As a greek, and from a long-withstanding house like AEPi, you should know the seperation in mentality among every two or so graduating classes. As a greek I could never label a house... and a group of people so unrelated to an event like this. Imagine JQ writing about your house because of something retarded one of your seniors or alums did. Think about trying to rush that next year, as someone completely unrelated to the kid in the picture... and having to deal with the remnance of it.
I understand where you are coming from, but the people you label here are just as pissed off and appaled at the pictures as you. It's one thing to label a person by their letters, it's another to label letters upon one person.
Post these pictures everywhere you want... honestly even though he's a brother, if my brother by BLOOD had put that as his profile picture and basically SENT it into a gossip magazine, I'd tell him he's a ****ing moron. Wouldn't we all? But, think about your last name being put to shame because of it...
I ask you, because I hope you can relate, that you please take the Chi Phi name off of this photo. I understand you probably won't because you have no reson to back down from what you wrote... but I had to at least say something for a group of guys that are somewhat speechless.

Not only did I make the 2004 tsunami look like the kiddie pool at Michigan's Adventure with this picture. But, this got Chi Phi's name on the ****ing website. By putting it in the middle as JQ has, he has created an atmosphere for rushees to feel they can matter in a house's rep. It's not beta. It's not Pike (thank god). It's not figi.... the list could go on. Chi Phi is a house that redefines itself every generation. I love that aspect of my house. That is what Chi Phi is all about. Unfortunately, that sucks for the social life at the house but only in consistency. We always have kick ass parties, it's just that the girls vary from time to time.
When I get asked at work if I'm Greek and I say I'm a Chi Phi and the follow up is "where is that" I hate it. You younger guys have to learn that building a house that you don't live in is cool... only if you're a ****ing Contractor. Jump in that shit. Make waves. You're only here once. Grow some balls and do something crazy. Jump through a window. Eat glass. shower with a dude naked take pictures and post them on the web. Everyone knows I'm not gay. THAT'S WHY IT'S FUNNY.
I mean I'm clearly not the best brother in the house but honestly, It's the last game of the season Brett can't hold anything back now.
Me and JQ created the slate now use it.... Posted 04/06/2008 3:39 PMReply
