Bad Headlines Won't Mean End Collegian

Bad Headlines Won't Mean End Collegian
We haven't made fun of The Collegian lately, but it's a slow news day (as seen in today's 14 page issue of The Collegian). Plus someone points out every time we make a grammar or spelling error. We know it's you Collegian staff. And don't say you don't read this, we know for a fact that you do. Yes, we can see into that basement.

So, today's Opinion section of The Collegian seems normal enough. The Editorial staff complaining about something 90% of the student body won't read, and letters about JoePa's retirement (or lack of), MLK (not sure what article or letter the writer is responding to on that one) and another mention of SOS (hey, when do we get some attention over here!). And then there's the column by Jason Parham, which the headline writers over at the Collegian obviously fell asleep on.

The headline reads "Black president won't mean end racism." Now, to be clear, Parham didn't write the headline, so we're not saying he did anything wrong. But clearly the headline writers at The Collegian need a little help. When they're not grammatically wrong, they're often stupid ("Crowd could raise money" -  really? that's a good headline?) or factually inaccurate ("Pizza man strikes police cruiser" - uhh, actually the police cruiser hit the pizza man).

Is this a big deal? Uhhh, no. But we needed something to write about today. So, if you're hurt by anything in this post Collegian staff, feel free to point out any errors we made. There are probably many.

P.S. - That new website of yours (www.psucollegian.com) doesn't work. Might want to look into that.
