Would you ever get plastic surgery? According to BBC News, they say that more and more teenage girls are going under the knife because they are unhappy with their bodies. Breast implants and nose jobs seem to be the most popular procedures. Girls are begging their parents to support them with the money or even go as far as taking out a loan so that they have the “perfect body.” There are girls as young as the age of 11 who are actually undergoing plastic surgery- that is outrageous!!!! I didn’t even know what boobs were at that age.

Two main reasons as to why these numbers have risen so sharply are due to the pursuit of happiness and low self esteem factors. They want to be the girl that every passerby wants and envies. Physical appearance is everything nowadays where you have to have the perfect face and body to be treated like a normal person. That’s bull**** but true! And there is no one else to blame but our society. They put so much pressure on young girl’s to look a certain way that it is becoming a little bit unhealthy.

They really believe that plastic surgery is the ultimate goal of happiness but is that really true? Yes, it does satisfy some aspect in your life, but how long does that really last? Once you get one thing done, you’re only going to want to get something else done. It’s never going to end. Human beings love the feeling they get from instant gratification. That is what plastic surgery fulfills. Only for that time being it’s exciting because it’s something new, but as quickly as you can attain this happiness, it fades just as fast.

Just because your boobs are a little smaller, or your nose is a little longer doesn’t mean jack ****. All people are made to look different. I don’t understand why everybody is ranting about wanting to be an individual, yet they are always trying to conform to look like everybody else. It is really no fun looking into a crowd and seeing the same thing over…and over…and over again.
