Curse of the Drinking Ticket

Curse of the Drinking Ticket

Here at U of I, we have a little thing called the Curse of the Drinking Ticket. You can go for two years drinking underage at bars, going to parties, and having a great time. But the month before you turn 21 it hits: the Curse.

The Curse has happened to more that 8 of my friends. The month before they turned 21, they would go out as usual, but return home with a hefty ticket for underage drinking. The Curse is so prevalent that some of my friends have even stopped going out during that dreaded month before they become legal.

One of my friends made a particularly bad choice when it came to drinking tickets. She had already gotten one this summer, so assumed she was in the clear during her Month of the Curse. Yet, sure enough, this month, the month before she turned 21, she still came home with a ticket for underage drinking.

The lesson to be learned in this horrible case is that even though you have already gotten a ticket for drinking, you still aren’t safe! Watch out during that horrible month before you turn 21 and drinking is legal. If you think the Curse of the Cubs is real, you haven’t seen anything yet!

That being said, please remember to be careful while drinking in Illinois.  Although the ticket may only seem like a hefty piece of money, if you get 3 or more at University of Illinois, more serious consequences ensue.  For more informations on the effects of alcohol on the body, check www.RightHealth.com!
