Despite the Criticism, Rodriguez Continues to Bolster the 2009 Recruit Class

Is this what we're doing now???

“They’re rebuilding this year, they’ll probably finish 5-7”. “I’ve got them finishing 10th in the Big Ten standings at the end of the season”. “We’ll see if they can avoid another losing season”. Enough with this bullsh*t! Who do you think Michigan is, Notre Dame??? Even so, Notre Dame had a good season in their transition year with Charlie Weis; it was the second season where they dipped to 3-9. That’s why the 2009 recruiting class is huge for Rodriguez-- and he’s presently doing a great job with it. Michigan has ten oral commitments thus far, including seven 4-star recruits and 5-star Defensive Tackle William Campbell.

News today reported that 5-star Defensive Back Darius Winston withdrew his oral commitment to Arkansas (He met Ryan Mallet) and said that Michigan is leading among his choices (I wonder if Rich Rod upset another “gentleman”). If Michigan can get an official commitment from him then we’d be set to have one of the country’s best secondaries in a few years with Winston and Justin Turner in the 2009 class (maybe more to come) behind Brandon Smith and Boubacar Cissoko of the 2008 class.

Michigan admittedly may not be a great candidate for the Big Ten championship this year. However, I have a feeling that guys like Carlos Brown, Greg Matthews and Steven Threet are going to show up this season and make us forget about Hart, Manningham and Henne. Hey, we already forgot that none of those guys ever beat OSU. Well, most of us anyway.
