Affectionately known as BFE, North Campus is often seen as a curse when handed out in freshman housing assignments. Though this is the general consensus among most on campus, you can argue both sides of the issue.

Pro - If you're in engineering, art school or music school, North Campus is great. Most of the time, you can avoid the long bus haul down to Central as the majority of your classes will be nearby. Also, by living up there you have access to the magical grocery store where you can buy anything using entreé plus, also known as free money.

Con - If you are not one of the above majors, you're screwed. You will be absurdly far away from all of your classes, and have to rely on a completely unreliable bus system which will probably stop somewhere that is still a ten minute walk to your class. You can Lance Armstrong it on a bike to class, but you'll probably be either sweating like a horse when you get there, or lying in the road, cut down by E. Medical Center traffic.

The two dorms up north are nothing to write home about either. Bursley is essentially the Markley of the north, which means microscopic rooms and cinder block walls. Baits is like summer camp housing, with individual units that look like they should be named after Indian tribes or types of trees. Unfortunately, there are no color wars or s'more bonfires.

So unless you're an artist, musician or engineer, BFE is not a place you want to be. If you are stuck there, try to get transfered to SOMEwhere on Central, if not, you'll be a social outcast who has to leave every party early so you don't miss the last bus back.
