For Shame, PopCrunch!

For Shame, PopCrunch!
And it's not just because of the logo size.

If you thought Johnny Quest was excited when Michigan made PopCrunch's list of 50 Hottest Student Bodies, you should've seen my reaction when I found Cal, supposed home of the hairy, nerdy, "put your Berkeley goggles on and you still might have to close your eyes" woman, on the list--ranked #14, no less, above several traditional hottie powerhouses. That is, until I looked at the hotties upon which they based their judgment.

As it turns out, there is at least one website that has even lower journalistic standards than OTR. Before you drop your jaw at popcrunch's list of hot Cal alumni, you should probably know the following: Gwyneth Paltrow went to UCSB--University of California, Santa Barbara (and didn't even earn her degree); Tera Patrick went to Boise State University, then transferred to UCSB; and Chrissy Schwartz (of "Newport Harbor" fame, if it can be called that) went to UCSB, then transferred to USC.

In short, none of them went to Cal. It's probably not a stretch to assume popcrunch either doesn't know or doesn't care that the different UC campuses aren't just satellites of one big University of California (as much as Rally Comm might tell you otherwise). In reality, they're different universities, each with their own separate, but not necessarily equal, contingents of hotties--and SAT scores.

So, next time you're compiling a list of campus hotties, popcrunch, find some Cal babes that actually go to Cal.
