The tentative seating chart before the decision to abandon Rhynocerous Stadium.
Ding dong, the witch is dead. And by witch I mean the terrible, horrible idea to have graduation at Eastern. After the results of the incredibly confusing graduation survery, U officials learned that 90% of students want graduation to be on campus, which was apparently something they needed a survey to figure out.
We still have problems though. Not enough of you listened when I said if we're not careful with this survey we'll end up in Crisler instead of the Big House. Look:
"About 60 percent of respondents said they still favored holding the ceremony on campus, even if it meant that only a limited number of guests could attend in person while other guests watched via video feed from a satellite venue. (This means Crisler)
About half of respondents also said venue handicap accessibility was "Not at all important" or "Not very important."
Although many students have proposed holding commencement at Crisler Arena - home to the Michigan basketball and women's gymnastics teams - Crisler Arena has just 18 wheelchair-accessible seats." (WTF?)
Yeah, problem. If you wanted the Big House you should have said you needed a lot of tickets even if you didn't. That handicap question even tricked me though. I thought with all the bitching about the Big House renovation not accommodating disabled people, if I said I didn't need handicap accesibility, that would be points for the Big House. Who knew that Crisler hates handicapped people even more?
But the Big House is still in play as an option (in the next few weeks they're looking into the feasibility of making it ready), so all is not lost. Keep going to forums and writing e-mails and what not, and we'll get there eventually.
Also, keep voting, Wesleyan caught up and there's two days left.
