Unbeknownst to the world, the Global Language Monitor recently released their own rankings of the nation’s top colleges and universities based on the number of appearances they made in print and electronic media, and Harvard, Columbia and the University of Michigan took the three top spots.
For College OTR, the appearance of the University of Michigan on the list particularly warrants discussion, because over the past year, our very own Johnny Quest singlehandedly produced nearly 300 stories about his Alma mater that, in total, generated hundreds of thousands of visitors to Michigan OTR.
In other words, no one on the Internet has written more about Ann Arbor than Mr. Quest, and it’s this fact alone that has put Michigan – and by proxy OTR – on the proverbial Google map.
If you don’t believe me, do a quick Google Images search for “Johnny Quest,” and you will see Paul’s mug on the very first page, which given the age of the actual cartoon character, is incredibly impressive.
That fun tidbit aside, here’s the rest of the list:

Unsurprisingly, almost every Ivy League university made it into the top 30. Dartmouth, which most people even forget is an Ivy, is the only one that didn’t. Shame on you, Dartmouth, for letting the rest of the Ivy League down, but best of luck on the save recovery of Keggy the Keg.
And so, for those currently attending one of these fine institutions, the question must be asked: How does it feel to be enrolled at one of the most talked universities in the world?
