Not a hoax. Sad business.
I know this isn't related to U of M at all, but **** it, Heath Ledger was a badass. Sadly, he was found dead in his apartment this evening. He was 28. There's going to be an official autopsy, but preliminary cause of death is an overdose of sleeping pills which were found by his body. It could be accidental or on purpose, but either way, it sucks.
Heath Ledger's been in everything from "10 Things I Hate About You" to "The Patriot" to his Oscar-nominated perfomance in "Brokeback Mountain." Most recently, he plays the Joker in the upcoming movie "The Dark Knight" (which is done filming for all you insensitive bastards whose mind jumped to that immediately). Even from the trailer, his performance looks to be amazing, and now with his death, it's going to be immortal.
So yeah, a very sad day for the film industry, not to mention he's got a two year old daughter. Best wishes to his family and friends.
Update: Despite what Perez Hilton is rambling on about, it's looking like Heath's death was an accident. I'm watching Larry King right now and a bunch of his friends are on saying that he was completely sober, he had a bunch of stuff lined up he was excited to do and he's a really great guy who definitely isn't the kind of douche that would leave a two year old daughter behind. So that's good.

P.S. You're only accusing us of being insensitive because that was in fact the first thought that popped into your mind. Weren't you there when Groucho talked about projection? Posted 01/22/2008 4:43 PMReply
