"Impeach Obama" Facebook Group Getting Slightly Ahead of Itself

"Impeach Obama" Facebook Group Getting Slightly Ahead of Itself

Alright, alright, if he turns out to be a robot I might be on board.

I’m not exactly sure when last there was a call to impeach a president who didn’t even take office for another three months, but I’m going to go with never. But that hasn’t stopped the massive brainpower of 5,000 facebook users from forming a group dedicated to the topic. Here’s the description.

Get on board if you want to be ready to impeach Barack Obama.

Each president recites the following oath, in accordance with Article II, Section I of the U.S. Constitution:

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

This group has been created under the assumption that it takes approximately 7 seconds for a modern day President to violate this oath. So we should be ready.

"In some governments it is held that 'the king can do no wrong;' here we know no king but the law, no monarch but the constitution; we hold that every man may do wrong; the higher he is in office, the more reason there is that he be obliged to answer for his conduct; and a great officer, if treacherous, is a great criminal, so that he ought to be made to suffer a great and exemplary punishment."

--Elementary Catechism on the Constitution of the United States, Arthur J. Stansbury, 1828

Yeahhh, I’m not exactly sure you’re understanding how to impeach someone, or the reasons for doing so. If we did that every time a president ****ed up in some way, terms would be an average of maybe like two months long. And don’t get me started on Bush.

And really, if you look at the wording of that statement, it says that the president will “to the best of his ability” do all those things. Honestly, I think Bush did everything "to the best of his ability,” it’s just that his ability was extremely, extremely limited.

Well whatever, we’re all still waiting on that first Facebook group to actually get something accomplished. I wonder how it all worked out for the guy who started that group “If 1,000,000 people join this group my girlfriend will have a threesome with me”?

I hope they all realize their names and mugshots are visible to the feds. Geeze talk about making it easy for the law to know who to 'keep an eye on' in society. Dummies. Posted 11/07/2008 8:41 PMReply

The scary thing is he will probably serve 4 years. Hard to imagine things getting much worse than they are now, but I doubt he'll make it any better. Putting a junior Senator with the most liberal voting record in Congress into the White House doesn't seem like the way to unify the country and start to move forward. Posted 11/07/2008 9:34 PMReply

It all makes total sense if you live in a world where George W. Bush is wrongly accused of those 35 articles of impeachment and you shake your head at the idea that someone would impeach him for protecting us from terrorists. If you live in that crazy world, then you think the number reasons for impeaching Dubbya are exactly the same as the reasons for impeaching Obama, which is zero. I just wonder... what color is the sky in that world? Posted 11/07/2008 9:53 PMReply

Abraham Lincoln is turning in his grave right now because we just voted in a man who's ways are not at all his ways. I would love to see a black man or woman as president, but one who has earned it, not using 600 million dollars vs. a man with only virtue and hope. It seems we just sold our nation to the highest bidder, now is there going to be chaos.

I wonder 1000 years from now will our descendents be ashamed we put racism, from both whites and blacks above morals, ethics, principle, and a nation God has given us; and our forefathers, both black and white have worked so hard for.

End abortion, in Gods eyes it could be human sacrifice.
I pray this nation will come under the conviction of it's evilness.

All nations that ever practiced it, have been exterminated.

he EARNED it when he was elected by a vast majority of the country. and if you talk about selling the presidency to the highest bidder, know what the hell you're talking about. He did not pay for most of his fundraising out of his own pocket, like most candidates, or from $1,000-a-person fund-raising events, like most candidates. his campaign money came from $5 donations from many, many people who felt his presidency would be the best thing for america, and wanted to do what they could to ensure that it happened. you're ignorant, and do some reading before you post something that you clearly are not knowledgeable about. ^^^you should know what you're talking about because while he raped in the electoral college the popular was actually very very close. Posted 11/08/2008 11:54 AMReply

Obama won by 6% points. That's not the electoral college dumbass, and that is a hell of a bigger gap then bush won by. Obama won Virginia, North Carolina, Indiana, Ohio BY THE POPULAR VOTE. Don't ****ing marginalize that - it is extraordinary. The republican party of today is the party of know-nothing, anti-intelligence and is nothing the way Abraham Lincoln or any respectable republican ever envisioned the party. With Powel's support and the support of famous republican families like Buckley, Goldwater and Eisenhour, your put-downs of Obama are baseless. The current Republican party is a disgrace to our country, and Obama did not fund his own campaign (you know families that own one house and one car can't really do those things). Maybe Mccain should have put one of his seven cars or 11 houses up for auction on ebay. Obama's campaign was funded by the people with the average donation at about 80 bucks. By that way, Palin doesn't know the difference between a country and a continent. She thought africa was a country. I just threw up in my mouth, excuse me. Posted 11/08/2008 1:20 PMReply

Obama spoke of 57 states...that is recorded, the Palin Africa continent is rumor and there is no proof, just some disgruntled aide back talking...

Obama in his books admitted to being drawn to Marxism and socialism as well as doing drugs...

idiot just bcause you learn about marxism and socialism doesn't mean that is going to be your policy making basis. Was that his quote? Did he say "I was drawn"? Cuz you seem like someone who probably read his book right? No one even wants to publish Bush's memoir, pathetic. See Obama wants to cut taxes for a different segment of people, and why is that class war fare as opposed to cutting taxes for the top 1%? In Bush's economic stimulus package he gave the most money (FROM THE GOVERNMENT) to the richest people. Everyone else got pennies. But it was still taking money from the government and giving it to the people. In Obama's tax cuts he wants to change whose taxes are really getting cut. It's the same plan as republicans have been preaching (tax cuts tax cuts tax cuts) but Obama is just setting the tax-cut bar at a different level. It's no different than what has already been done.
Palin doesnt know the names of any newspapers. Oh yeah but your typical gotchya journalism right: "What papers do you like to read?" That's very hard-hitting stuff. Rasie your standards. Guess what, 100% of Democrats would like to see that thing be the leader of the Republicans. Say bye bye to your party.

So Obama wants to give tax cuts to the middle class. Now that's all fine and dandy. But, the problem is his plan to put heavy taxes on big businesses. These big companies are then going to raise their prices (the prices you pay for almost everything you buy) to make up for the cost of the tax. Then demand will fall and firms obviously won't make as much. Less production = job cuts. Not to mention his plan to jack up minimum wage will prompt companies to employ even fewer people.

What we need right now is jobs. The lower taxes to the middle class aren't going to compensate for the cuts businesses will have to make. If anything americans are going to be conservative with the money they get back for fear of losing their jobs which does the economy no good.

I hope all you Obama supporters realized this when you filled out that ballot.

Typical Republican logic: if this happens, then that'll happen, then that'll happen, which of course will lead to THE END OF THE WORLD. You guys are obviously filled with the MOST logical plans and extraordinary genius, look where we are today. LOOK WHERE WE ARE AFTER THE LAST 8 YEAR compared to the 8 year before Bush W... Try to comprehend an actual logical connection - i know, mind blowing Posted 11/08/2008 9:18 PMReply

Tell Obama to take care of some of the poor people in his own family before he starts telling rich people they should share their money. Why hasn't anyone asked him about his aunt and cousin that live in poverty? Although I am sure he has a really good excuse for not giving them any of his hard earned money. Give me a ****ing break. I think Obama is going to be a good president, but seriously, practice what you preach. Posted 11/14/2008 12:09 PMReply

"practice what you preach" you are so profound. u think john mccain doesnt have anyone in his family suffering in some type of way? shouldn't he give one of his 11 houses, or 7 cars to them? Your point is so incredibly irrellavent. As of now the government gives the most financial relief to the top 1% - the richest individuals and corporations. He wants to change who receives the government's financial relief that comes in the form of tax breaks. Seriously, u sound like an idiot. The money that Obama's campaign earned came from a whole country giving tiny donations of 85 bucks. His family owns one car, one house, and is raising 2 daughters, and Obama still had student loans he was paying off. Posted 11/14/2008 12:53 PMReply
