Invisibility Cloak Becomes Imminent?

The ubergeniuses at UC Berkeley come out with a paper in Nature and Science later this week chronicling a recent discovery which may take the invisibility cloak from the realm of fantasy novels to reality. New findings use metamaterials to reflect radar, light, and other waves which make objects visible. Because the metamaterials bend visible light in unconventional ways, three-dimensional objects may go unseen. Funding for the research was provided by the U.S. Army Research Office and the National Science Foundation's Nano-Scale Science and Engineering Center. This technology should allow some pretty sneaky business to go down.
