Jason Alexander Takes Another Role That Speaks to Him as an Artist

Honorary-graduate/Broadway-superstar/KFC-spokesperson Jason Alexander has teamed up with country music hit maker Brad Paisley once again for another exercise in poignant social critique. The first time around it was a sharp indictment of the modern cult of fame, the music video for Paisley’s song “Celebrity.” Now the duo is attacking the degradation of our culture via digital isolation, with Alexander directing the video for Paisley’s new ditty, “Online.”

Besides his cleverly laconic song-titling skills, Paisley has a knack for casting. Along side Alexander, “Online” also stars William Shatner, Estelle Harris and a recently svelte Maureen McCormick. Alexander himself plays what Paisley describes as “the 40-year-old virgin meets Neo from ‘The Matrix.’” With that description, George Costanza obviously comes to mind.

Hopefully these two will continue in their clear calling, tackling other pressing, untouched issues, like teen pregnancy or drug abuse. I for one can’t wait for “Crack.”
