Krumholz Brothers' Brush with Death in Peru

Krumholz Brothers' Brush with Death in Peru
For brothers Rich '07 and Andrew '09, a relaxing overnight stay in Juliaca, Peru turned into a nightmare!

Juliaca was one of several sites of violent protests waged by Peru's national teacher's union. When these protests turned violent and demonstrators lit the local bus and train stations on fire, the Krumholz brothers knew that they had to act.

With unpassable roads, a closed airport, and other means of transportation in ashes, there seemed to be no way out of the volatile situation. Luckily, they thought to call International SOS (I-SOS), the medical and security services firm that ensured the safe rescue of 20 Harvard affiliates last summer following the bombings in Lebanon. I-SOS helped the brothers to protect themselves from the violence and devise an escape plan, which was ultimately successful! Read more here!

We are thankful that these two are alright!! And that Harvard has the ca$h to hire a firm to rescue us from bitter international conflicts!
