Michigan Finally Beats Ohio State, Fans Rush the Floor

Man, it's been quite some time since the Wolverines had something to brag about in the face of the Buckeyes. The basketball team defeated Ohio State this afternoon, 80-70 at Crisler Arena, their third straight Big Ten victory. DeShawn  Sims and Manny Harris combined for 49 of those points while walk-on David Merritt became a fan favorite as he exploded for 7 points and 4 assists in the first half before going down with a knee injury later in the second.

Rich Rodriguez made a speech at halftime introducing his family (for the 30th time) and the new coaching staff. Under the pressure of a "beat the Buckeyes" chant, he said "I'm not going to make any predictions just yet ...[when] the maize and blue come out of that tunnel, I guarantee you they will play hard and they will play physical, that I promise you."

That's a pretty soft claim to make in front of a sell-out crowd. Guaranteeing a win probably would have went over better with the fans, but at least the basketball team took care of that business for today. How many more wins do we need to be eligible for the NIT?

P.S

Sorry for the Cloverfield like filming at the end, a lot of pushing and shoving going on...
