Yup, There was Something Up Her Butt
What-what's, in my butt?

Michigan is one of four states that spend more money on prisons than higher education (thanks Soc376). This translates to higher tuition for schools such as the University of Michigan, especially for those out-of-state students. For those who figured there was something stuck up Governor Granholm’s ass, well, congratulations—you were right. Fortunately, she had such obstruction removed from her bowels during emergency surgery a few days ago. Does this mean we can expect more state money towards UM? Perhaps, but it’s only a matter of time until something else gets lodged in there and rates get upped a few more hundred bucks.

Bowel obstruction? In all seriousness, what would Vegas put the odds at of this being something she put up there to get off? 5-1? Posted 05/04/2008 08:57 AMReply

Actually...you are all wrong! The obstruction was caused from complications of a car crash that happened a few years back and it could have been very serious. Second, even before her daughter went here the Governor had been working tirelessly to provide more funding to our schools.

It was the Michigan Senate that stood as the roadblock to the higher education funding increase that GRANHOLM proposed!

Quit blaming the Governor for the problems that Michigan is having. She cannot control the unfair trade laws (look to D.C.) and she cannot make unilateral decisions about the state (look to the Michigan Legislature).

Granholm has been a great leader and has been praised throughout the country for her management skills. The problem that really exists is that she can't make decisions on her own and the Republican legislature continues to hold on to tax cuts for the wealthiest citizens and companies that send our jobs out of state.
