After seeing what I expected would be the response to yesterday’s “Student Bodies” post, I’ve decided that it’s time for the girls here to put up or shut up. That’s why I’m fully embracing the superficiality of this site we’ve created by hosting the first contest to find the absolute best-looking girl at Michigan. I’ve thought about having this contest for awhile because I mean, who else would ever do something like this? The Daily? IFC? MSA? I believe this is the only avenue for a contest like this to be remotely successful. This isn’t picking Homecoming Queen, or Ms. Greek Week. You don’t need to be charitable, be involved in extracurriculars or even be nice, just hot.

So here are the rules - guys and girls can nominate any of their friends (and of course you can nominate yourself) for this prestigious award through either of the following ways: by clicking “Submit a Tip” up at the top of the site here or Facebook messaging me (or my real life alter ego if you know my name). Entries should include the nominee’s full name, the best picture you can find of them, their sorority (if applicable, and definitely not a prerequisite) and your full name. This is because I’m going to message them after they’re nominated so I know I have their permission to post their picture and tell them who nominated them. Because after all, what’s the point of a “Hottest Girl” contest if I have to black out their face?

Nominations will be open until let’s say, graduation, after which there will be some sort of judging/voting process to be determined later. The prize is the boost of self-confidence you get from knowing that you were voted “The Hottest Girl at Michigan,” and can you really put a price on that? But know that while I’ll be deleting any super obscene comments, you are opening yourself for scrutiny from throngs of anonymous commenters, who as we’ve seen can be particularly cruel. But of course you’ll be comforted by the fact that you know they’re just jealous. And for all those about to complain I’m not doing a matching “Hottest Guy” contest, I’m going to go ahead and leave that for when this site finally gets a female editor.

I’ve no idea how many entries I’ll actually see submitted, so that being said, you or your friend probably have a pretty good shot at winning. I know you sorority girls already take things like my rankings seriously, so this will be one more thing to add to your column if one of your girls wins. And GDIs? You can prove that you don’t need to be Greek to be good looking. So yeah, submit a tip or Facebook me with nominees. I’ll be posting periodic updates as the contest progresses. Good luck!

Update: For the sake of the contest I will be deleting ANY mean comments about featured nominees so we don't get all Juicy Campus up in here. Keep those nominations coming people.
