Coach Rich Rodriguez announced last week that Adrian Arrington, Mario Manningham, and Ryan Mallet were not at the team’s first meeting. Arrington and Manningham will be entering the NFL draft and Mallet was expected to transfer. It now appears close to official that Mallet will be joining the Arkansas Razorbacks in the SEC.

Mallet is very tall, very slow, and has the Hideo Nomo of wind-ups (slowest) at the quarterback position. He was clearly not ideal for the spread option offense that Rodriguez will be bringing for the future. It’s not a huge loss for the Wolverines since, if you look at his freshman performance, he doesn’t even compare to the freshman year of Chad Henne. In order to get to the next level the Wolverines will need a quarterback better than Chad (Terrelle Pryor much?).

There has been absolutely nothing of interest going on campus recently, so feel free to go out there and get busted for some heavy drugs or pinch a few loaves on Mary Sue’s lawn because of commencement. It needs to happen out there to get written about in here, so step up and be a team player.

I guess you could do something to better campus or humanity or something, but you know, to each his own.
