Michigan vs. Notre Dame: Worst Match-Up Ever
This weekend marks the first time, to my knowledge, that the two winningest teams in college football history will meet each other, winless. Both the Wolverines and Fighting Irish are coming into this game with 0-2 records; one will be leaving with an 0-3 mark. It will be a battle of desperation and freshman quarterbacks, as Chad Henne is out for 2-3 weeks. Ryan Mallet will start in his place.

Those in Ann Arbor and South Bend will watch while the rest of the nation will turn to each other and say, “Isn’t this supposed to be an epic game? They suck!” Senior running back Mike Hart has guaranteed a victory for the M this weekend. Hopefully his guarantee is similar to that of the 2004 Rasheed Wallace, and not from 2005 on.

The big ten isn’t as strong this year as it was last year, so maybe a win against ND will give Michigan a bit of a lift as they get ready to face Penn State in week four. Let’s not forget that Michigan was ranked #5 to start the season. They are a capable and talented team. If they stopped moping around, they could win the conference. Time will tell--don’t give up just yet.
