Nothing to see here...

It took about a month, but the Michigan Student Assembly finally passed a resolution in support of the UAAO (United Asian American Organization) boycott of Studio 4. However, MSA is still “investigating” the incident and the resolution only provided a withholding of funds to student groups who want to host at Studio 4. Said one MSA rep, “We’re not, ourselves, boycotting. We’re standing with them”. Wow, way to step it up MSA. It’s already been a month since the incident and you won’t “jump to conclusions” before your “investigation” is over. Here’s a little quote from the article, “MSA has not spoken directly to Studio 4 about the alleged incident”. I’m not a detective or anything, and I know there’s all the high tech DNA analysis, black lighting and fiber sampling on TV and it’s pretty intimidating, but can’t you make a f*cking phone call?

OTR has already offered its full boycotting support, though we were pretty indifferent until being threatened with a fake lawyer. It seems like a Studio 4 “supporter”, not going to name names, though I have a pretty good idea who, also left a comment or two on the Michigan Daily website,

“I can't see how this incident could have possibly happened. I go to Studio 4 on a regular basis and I have never had any problems with Jeff or Reese. In fact, it's just the opposite. They are kind, welcoming, and provide a great environment for college students to have a good time. I think that if one were to go to Studio 4 on a regular basis, he or she would be able to see that the management is anything but racist.”

“Studio has always been very fair about fundraisers for student groups and probably one of the easier ways for many student organizations to raise money. This whole debacle just seems to be a whole miscommunication to me.”

I’ve seen enough of the comments on the OTR boards to know it’s the same guy. If anyone knows what’s going on behind the scenes with MSA feel free to chime in for their defense because it used to be just Paul who hated them.
