Michigan State Police and Graham Rahal of the Champ Car World Series have been lobbying to make text messaging illegal while operating a vehicle. This has created a ruckus among text-happy (over 65%) Michigan students and my BFF Jill. 

Rahal, the series' youngest driver, apparently has the merit to comment on the issue and signed a pledge to his family and friends stating that he will "no longer text and drive". Good to know that someone who races at hundreds of miles per hour won't be simultaneously asking half his phonebook wut they R up 2.

At least this gives the Ann Arbor police something to do other than check for expired meters; we’ll see if they’re up for the challenge.
