For many of you, school is over, and it’s time to start working before your parents get pissed at your freeloading. Don’t waste all your newfound wealth on booze and parties, though! This summer is going to be filled with shiny new tech to snatch up and show off to your all friends in the fall, and one of the first of these to arrive is the 3G iPhone.
For the non-tech savvy students out there, 3G is basically broadband-quality internet speeds for your cell phone. The current iPhone and most crappy US phones (like mine) currently use Edge, which is slow as all hell, to handle all their data functions. So, the speed boost would be a welcomed addition to the current "King of All Cell Phones."
Imagine this scenario, if you will. You’re sitting at your boring summer desk job and want to kill some time by browsing the Internet. You try to log onto Perez Hilton, but you find the website is blocked. If you have a 3G iPhone, you can not only circumvent this pesky block, but also do it quickly without your boss taking notice. If you’re on Edge, though, you’ll be stuck starting at the loading bar so long that your boss will eventually catch on to your nefarious attempts to procrastinate at work.
Bummer. Good luck finding a new job.
If that wasn't enough of an incentive, Gizmodo, a popular tech blog, has also heard that the 3G iPhone will come with video conferencing, GPS and an assortment of other goodies.
Jesus… Please let it be true!
It’s no mystery that college students heart them some Apple. Therefore, I say it’s time we all embrace our overlord Steve Jobs and accept the iPhone into our lives.
I know I will.
