It is about time we, as an OSU community, decide on the final rules for drinking games. Anyone else annoyed with going to a house party, sitting down to play a game, and spending fifteen minutes figuring out the rules to go by? This week we chronicle "Defend Your Castle", a strategy-based pong game. If you'd like to add rules or suggestions, feel free to comment.

Name: Defend Your Castle

Alternate Names: Storm the Bastille

Required Equipment: 24 cups, 12 quarters, 2 ping-pong balls

Number of People: 4 people (2 teams of 2)

Setup: Place 4 cup squares at each corner. Put liquor in the cup on the corner's edge. The others receive beer. Place 4 cups in a vertical line on each side, with the last one touching the edge of the table, and fill with beer. Each player gets 3 quarters to put in the wall cups. Decide which team goes first.

Play: The liquor cup is called the throne, the other three are called walls. The vertical cups are called the troops.

Each turn, teams take two shots with ping-pong balls. If a wall cup is hit, it is moved to the back of the troops line. If a throne is hit, then the castle owner of that throne is out. If a troop line cup is hit, then it is drank and removed from the table.

Quarters signify an extra life. Once a wall cup is hit once, it moves to the troop line, but the quarter is removed. The team can now throw the quarters at the other team's cups when it is there turn (as well as the two ping-pong balls). If it is made into a wall cup, that gives the wall cup an extra life for the troop line. If it is made into the throne cup, the game is over.

Each turn, the troops advance one space up. No bouncing allowed.

Game Over When: Quarter made into throne cup; Both throne cups on one side made with ping-pong balls; one troop advances past the half-court line.

Special/Optional Rules: Troops can be replaced at the back of the line.
