Firstly, yes I know that someone wrote about this today but it was lame and removed. I’m not going to let bad bloggers ruin good stories, so if you were disappointed by the last one, here’s another shot.

Sex is like a pizza bagel, you can have it any time. The Daily put out an article today about a Michigan study that looked at the topic a little more closely. They reported that males were about twice as likely to offer an “investment of time or effort or something of material value” in exchange for sex. Some of you may have experienced something like this. The rest of you have probably seen the video where they pick up the girls in a van and promise them $50 to blow every guy in the van, including Cletus, who works lighting. A lot of people probably make the promise of the gift and never follow through, one of those “oh yeah, sure, I’ll take you to my formal” knowing you or her won’t remember that in the morning.

I find it a little hard to believe that 14% of guys had received gift/investment offers for sex. Most guys would say yes before some sort of material benefit was even brought up. That is unless the quote “fat chicks need love too, but they gotta pay” actually has some merit to it. The article cited a bunch of students acting surprised by this, but in reality, most of the sex for benefits occurrences are implicit. When a guy chooses a restaurant or a gift for a girl he’s seeing, thinking about seeing, or just wants to see naked, the choice isn’t about what he thinks the girl’s going to like--it’s what’s the best restaurant or gift to get him laid. Rich people act like they’re the shit even when they’re unattractive because they know girls don’t really have a choice when they tell her she can get whatever she wants at Tiffany’s.
