PETA Wants to Change School's Name to Reflect Politically Correct Name for Fish, "Sea Kittens"

I normally don't care much about what PETA does. They've always been a certain degree of crazy, but on the other hand they brought us those "I'd rather be naked than wear fur" which involves naked women. So thumbs up for that.

However, when PETA pulls something like this, I want to infiltrate my local PETA on campus chapter, show up to the first meeting with a wiffle bat, and bonk the living hell out of everyone in the room. PETA is asking Spearfish High School to change it's name to "Sea Kitten High School." This is part of PETA's new "change the name of fish" campaign, which for some reason, exists.

They say that it's meant to teach kids that fish are living creatures just like kittens, even though they're not as cute. More fish die every year than all the....oh my God I'm already bored. And although "spearfish" might sound like it does in fact promote violence against fish, it's actually the name of a damn fish, who happens to have a spear on the end of its face.

The school has this response, as I'm sure do the rest of us, "It isn't something we're taking seriously."
