Plethora Of Politics

Plethora Of Politics

Tired of politics yet? Election years may bring an irksome cluster of attack ads and clueless cantidates, but they also effectuate a good amount of interesting events. Tonight at Coffman Union, I Self Devine hosts Explode The Vote, a hip-hop concert  which is "dedicated to turning out new voters by the thousands". Congressman Kieth Ellison joins local rappers Brother Ali, Big Quarters, Illuminous 3, Usual Suspects and Green Sketch to boost the message of inspiring voters and getting fans politically charged. 15 bones ain't a bad price for such a powerful lineup.

On top of that, former Vice President Al Gore visits campus on Saturday, October 4th to hype democratic senatorial cantidate Al Franken. The Al's will speak at Northrop Auditorium for Minnesota DFL Party Founders Day, and it's a mere 10 dollars for students. If you feel like you'd like to pay more money than that, they are accepting donations.
