Presidential Candidates Descend On Penn State. Well Ok, Their "People" Do
If you follow politics or Penn State football at all, you know that Joe Paterno is a HUGE Republican. He spoke at the 1988 Republican National Convention and stumped for George H.W. Bush here at Penn State during the run-up to the 1992 election. So it was a bit surprising to see that Jay Paterno, Joe's son and QB coach will be at the opening of Barack Obama's State College headquarters tomorrow at 5:30. Hopefully he doesn't work on Barack's release or throwing motion.

Today's CDT (you have to register to read stories on their site now ... annoying or not)tells us that Obama and Clinton's headquarters will be opening this week, with Clinton's opening Wednesday.

Obama's headquarters is downtown in the former Verizon building on Allen Street, a good spot for potential student involvement. But Clinton's headquarters is on West College Avenue, in Ferguson Township - not exactly a prime meeting spot.

I'm not going to endorse a candidate (like some people) but Obama is clearly winning the student vote since, according to the CDT, People's Nation has sold three cardboard cutouts of Obama and zero of Clinton.

Obama up 3-0 in the cardboard cutout vote. Do we even need to go to the polls?
