Purdue Students Join Others in Casting Votes

I have, you have (hopefully), and the rest of the country has spoken: Barack Obama will be the 44th president of the United States of America. While the polls predicted this to happen, many did not honestly see Indiana, a solidly Republican state to go blue and pick Obama. Of course, this was not official until the early hours of Wednesday that Indiana had in fact, given its eleven electoral votes to Obama.

Students on campus have been buzzing since the polls opened Tuesday about if they’re voting and for whom they are voting. No matter who you voted for, it’s neat to think that this first presidential election for many of us, each and every single vote really did count.

Whether for our against, its now time to stand behind our presidential-elect and be proud we have the privileges to voice our opinions. We should feel honored as young adults that the candidates fought heavily for our votes, and ultimately we made a difference. Congratuatlions!
