No, not that Lloyd, he'd make a sweet coach though
Multiple sources have indicated that the Big Ten Championship game this Saturday against Ohio State will be Lloyd Carr’s last game at Michigan Stadium. It was suspected before the season started that this may be Carr’s last, yet many fans were prematurely calling for his head after a 0-2 start. There are undoubtedly a lot of Michigan fans who are Lloyd haters. However, the fact of the matter is, he has won 5 (potentially 6) big ten titles and a national championship in 13 years as head coach. He also managed a perfectly clean slate for the football program while the basketball team was in the midst of a booster scandal.
Students and alumni choose to look at his poor performances against Jim Tressel and in recent Bowl games and criticize him as a terrible coach. Others however, recognize his history and effort he put into the program, and will be chanting “Lloyd Carr” at the start of the second quarter Saturday. Hopefully he can retire on a positive note with a 6th Big Ten Championship in his back pocket.
For those interested in more rumors, Les Miles, the coach of the #1 LSU Tigers is a Michigan Alum and has been projected as the replacement for Carr.
