Students Acing Econ, Flunking Reading and Math - as Usual
In honor of all those econ majors at Princeton and all those incoming freshmen already planning their 401(k)'s, the New York Times is reporting on a study showing that this year's high school seniors performed better on the first national economics test than they did on more demanding subjects, such as...reading and writing. It looks like students have stopped focusing on the less important things in life and are honing in on making money.

It's true that I never met people so frank about money-making as their primary objective until I came to Princeton. Keep up the good work, kids, but please, don't forget you have core requirements in writing and math at college before you get to become the next Bill Gates!
