Yes, that is Arnold "The Governator" Schwarzenegger smoking a joint, but aside from the weed, he has nothing to do with teens in Africa.  Unless they are robots from the future and he is here to destroy them.

Maybe this intro was not the most appropriate way to begin this somber article, but I liked the picture, so deal with it. It's kind of not really relevant, but let's move on.

In Africa, teens have taken to crushing HIV medications and then smoking it either by itself, with marijuana or painkillers. 

Smoking the pills is said to produce hallucinogenic effects, and the teens say that the drug makes them forget about their problems.

Doctors have not indicated the health risks associated with smoking the HIV medication; however, there is a definite problem because the pills that are crushed and smoked recreationally are then unavailable for those suffering from HIV and actually need them.

This trend has popped up in South Africa, but reporters have noted that this trend is spreading among surrounding countries.
