The Ithacan: Frivolity and Download Mongering Run Rampant
It's true!

The Ithacan last week featured a piece about the RIAA coming to our school and busting people with $3,000 fines for downloading songs like "Everyday America" by Sugarland:

"Oooh, whoa, everybody's dreaming big
Oooh, whoa, but everybody's just getting by
That's how it goes in everyday America
A little town and a great big light
"

Even patriotism can't save you from the RIAA!

Freshman Brendan Kimball, a culprit in question, was able to shake the school officials, but others weren't so lucky. Junior Hunter Zager was caught for allegedly sharing the song "Teenagers" by My Chemical Romance--a whole 'nother crime unto itself.
"I don't know what can make you guilty and what makes you innocent," she said [disheartened]. "But at this point, I'm ready to erase my entire music library just because I'm so terrified of what e-mail they're going to send me next."
Hear that? Ithaca College, stifling music everywhere. What would Radiohead have to say about this?!
