The View's Elisabeth Hasselbeck Graduates from BC and Obama Bashing, America Shocked

Remember a few weeks ago how ex-Survivor contestant and BC softball captain Elisabeth Hasselbeck couldn’t shut up about Barack Obama’s purported “radical connections” on The View? Or remember that time she said she’d bet her blond highlights that America would never choose Obama for president with knowledge of his associations? Well now Hasselbeck is pulling such a fast 180, her blond highlights are in danger of being ripped from her head through sheer centripetal force.

Just nine days after introducing Sarah Palin at a McCain-Palin rally, Elisabeth Hasselbeck nearly made America’s collective grey mass explode with confusion yesterday on The View with her gushing as she gushed over President-Elect Barack Obama. She glowingly said:

"Today is a victory for this country: to have Barack Obama be our president, the first black president, the first black first lady. To have the amount of voters -- 14 million more voters in this election than the last -- present themselves and vote in this election. Today is victory… In seeing the amount of people that were able to gather with enthusiasm, ignited and ready to move this country in a fresh direction under Barack Obama, I think he has a gift. And I think with everyone’s support and prayers, he has the ability to really move us in a new place."

Wow. If Columbia grad Barack Obama is smart enough to figure out a way to get Elisabeth Hasselbeck behind him, the man really can inspire change we can believe in.

Maybe Elisabeth likes to be on whatever side is the winning team. Her choice of words 'fresh direction' is right from McCain's campaign. But all sides should unite under their new President. Too bad the Dems. didn't offer the same respect to Bush, as their president. All sides should show class during the early days. Posted 11/06/2008 6:49 PMReply

I think she has to play nice to keep her $150K per year (? or has she gotten a raise) job. Barbara obviously gave her an ultimatum for her to act like that, practically rational. Posted 11/06/2008 8:41 PMReply

EH realized, yikes how was she going to ever pay her exorbitant mortgage, especially as she is the sole family bread winner. Posted 11/07/2008 1:53 PMReply

Yeah. I don't so much see this as a shocker. Really, she explained her "180" by stating that she is a Patriot and that you should support your president. I voted for McCain, but that doesn't mean that I'm not going to support President Obama and hope for good things to come from him. It's naive to think of him not acting as an impetus for change, given his historic campaign. And really, though, can anyone actually be surprised by Hasselbac's choice? She'd be a fool to still hold a grudge. Posted 11/13/2008 5:56 PMReply

This has nothing to do with anyone's ability to convince Elizabeth Hasselbeck, as she isn't changing her mind. She never even said if Obama became President she would not support him during the campaign season. Hasselbeck is a gem in American history and is showing us that she is a genuine American patriot who supports her President, no matter who he/she is. Go Hasselbeck!!!!! Posted 11/17/2008 3:46 PMReply
