Three Things to Watch for this Saturday

Three Things to Watch for this Saturday

The return of Kevin Grady: Grady showed flashes of potential as a true freshman after rushing for almost 500 yards behind Mike Hart. He slowed down his sophomore year and missed all of last year after having knee surgery. He was suspended for last week’s game after pleading guilty to a drunken driving charge. The offense needs all the weapons and experience it can get so keep your eyes open to see what Grady will bring to the table this season.

Threet-peat: Though to my knowledge tomorrow’s starting quarterback has not been announced; expect Steven Threet to be taking snaps in the first quarter. The first game jitters should be in the past and he should be making more throws like the one he hit Hemingway with. Even though top receiver Greg Matthews is out this week, expect the Michigan offense to thrive against a weaker Miami(OH) defense. Threet’s success will be conditional upon Michigan establishing the running game early, which will in turn open up things downfield for the passing game.

Defensive Domination: The defense showed in the second half last week what it’s capable of. The pass rush should be able to force Miami(OH) quarterback Daniel Raudabaugh into throwing a few picks into the Michigan secondary. Look forward to at least 3 or 4 turnovers by the Michigan defense tomorrow. These turnovers should put Michigan in good field position much like last week, but expect a reflective Michigan offense to fix a few voids from last week and capitalize on these situations.

Final Prediction: Michigan 31 Miami(OH) 10 (Michigan will win 8 games this year, have faith)
